Our tahini brownie is anything but an average brownie. It’s moist, full of chocolate, with a generous swirl of tahini, which takes this dessert to a whole new level of flavor bliss!
Serves: for a baking dish 20×20 cm Prep. time: 15′ Cooks in: 20′ Ready in: 35′
Ingredients
150 g tahini
150 g all-purpose flour
150 g brown sugar
150 ml fresh orange juice
1 shot rum or orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau, Grand Marnier)
125 g chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp cinnamon powder
1 cup walnuts, roughly crushed
1 tsp baking powder
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven at 180C/fan. Melt chocolate: Place chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over (not in) a saucepan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted, for 2 to 3 minutes. Or place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted.
Step 2
In a bowl mix tahini with orange juice and rum. Stir in melted chocolate and sugar and combine well. Sift flour, baking powder and cinnamon, add to the mix and stir. Add walnuts.
Step 3
Line your baking dish with non-stick baking parchment. Transfer mix and bake for 15-20 minutes until a nice crush forms on the surface but is still juicy inside. When cook, sprinkle with a little icing sugar if you wish.
